MTE Studios global travelling exhibition ‘Sultans of Science’ is hosted by Bilim Merkezi Science Centre in Konya Turkey currently. The informative and interactive travelling exhibition will highlight the importance of scientific and technological advances that were made during the Golden Age of Islam (7th – 17th Centuries) will draw attention to the multi-cultural roots of modern science and technology.

The Sultans of Science exhibition takes visitors back in time to the Golden Age of Islamic Science when mathematicians invented algebra and algorithms that enabled the development of computers. The doctors of this era discovered the pulmonary heart circulation, undertook operations with surgical instruments very similar to modern surgical instruments and established efficient public hospitals. Its astronomers observed the heavens, developed astronomical tools to calculate their position on earth and paved the way for satellites and travel in space. Its engineers such as Al-Jazari and the Banu Musa brothers laid the foundation of modern engineering and developed ingenious devices such as the first robot.

“Our aim is to reveal the remarkable achievements of Muslim civilization which helped pave the way for modern technologies and inventions. Audiences will be amazed to learn about the significant role the Islamic scholars have played in modern science, from astronomy, medicine, engineering to navigation and optics and these innovations and discoveries have helped in making mankind’s life easier today, said Ludo Verheyen, CEO, MTE Studios.
