Dubai based French artist, Cathy Deniset, is recognised as a professional when it comes to performing arts, painting of most desired objects in the region like iconic cars, portraits and abstract art.
She has worked as a dancer, choreographer, model and lighting engineer in France. Her experience and love for color, lights and shadows encouraged her to dive into the painting world. She started her journey learning in Paris the foundations of oil painting from the famous artist Christoff Debusschere. Her paintings possess a sense of balance, freedom and vividness that reflect Cathy’s personality and lifestyle.
She has exhibited her art in well-known local venues like Opera Gallery, Manarat Al Saadyat, St Regis, Sofitel SZD, Rixos, the Autodrome, Yas Island Abu Dhabi and currently at Gallery 27 in Dubai. You can also find her at car shows where she has enthralled audiences with her live paintings artworks.
For the last 14 years in Dubai, she merged all of her talents into Virtual Reality performances, speed painting, and live painting. She also enhanced her craft with inspirations from the Arab world, influenced greatly by its life and its natural surroundings.
Performing while creating art came naturally to Cathy. Being a former professional dancer and model, she combines her years of experience with art into a form of entertainment like Speed Painting and the innovative Virtual Reality performances (Live show where the artist in full motion creates a 3D art piece on stage). She has done many personalise live shows successfully in UAE, Oman, Qatar, London, Bangkok, France, Mauritius.
Cathy enjoys painting based on her own way of life: her passion for driving and painting muscle cars and the freedom to play with emotions and colours. Cars’ amateurs looks for her unique way to capture the feeling, beauty, and strength of exceptional cars. She is also at ease with abstract paintings creations in acrylic, which are great pieces highly appreciated for home, corporate environment, hotels and galleries.
Her figurative artworks, painting natural elements as sea, trees, dessert or some point of view of buildings in Dubai give her a lot of joy, calmness and grounding. Her portraits are capturing the essence of the person in a glamorised way. When you are looking at her paintings of influential figures in the UAE, one can see she is breaking ground in bringing something new.
