The QX80 Limited is ideal for adventure road trips, desert expeditions and family camping trips switching between comfortable city drives to being capable of tackling the toughest of terrains effortlessly. My drive involved mainly city driving and was enjoyable for cruising down Beach Road in Dubai and for my numerous coffee drive-through trips.   The QX80 comes with outstanding safety features and is engineered for the most remote areas of the world wrapped in comfort and luxury.

Exterior Design

The upgraded QX80 exterior has been refreshed to take INFINITI’s ‘powerful elegance’ form applied to a new scale, representing an evolution in design from the original. With sharper, thinner tail-lamps, straight and more angular character lines for bodywork, as well as light units and a raised lower bumper section, the QX80 Limited appears wider, taller and more athletic than its predecessor. The extended hood also creates a more squared-off, vertical front section whilst large, functional fender vents maximize air delivery to the engine.

Interior Feel

The interior feels like a modern interpretation of upscale luxury, with a spacious and luxurious premium cabin handcrafted in quality materials including perforated and quilted leather. Rear entertainment is more connected than ever, featuring larger high-resolution screens in the headrests and dedicated headphones, whilst ergonomic improvements give occupants more storage space, including a larger smartphone and tablet stowing area in the center console. INFINITI’s InTouch infotainment system has also been updated, allowing drivers to personalize driving characteristics and the cabin environment

Smart Features

The QX80 boasts the latest in premium comfort and technology, including Active Noise Cancellation to reduce driver fatigue during the long stretches between sites; NASA-inspired ergonomic seating; and the Around Vehicle Monitor plus a 360-degree overhead view to help avoid rocks, ruts and encounters with wildlife.

I found the Smart Rearview Mirror feature fun to use. The flexible display toggles between an external rear camera and a traditional mirror via a convenient flip-switch allocated under the mirror. The mirror may be customised via on-screen options, offering a wider view in low-light conditions.

With the QX80’s Pedestrian Detection and forward emergency braking, sensors watch for vehicles or objects in the lane ahead and automatically applies the brakes to avoid a collision.The Predictive Forward Collision Warning senses vehicles in front of the preceding one, decreasing the chance of a needless and unforeseen impact.

The Intelligent Cruise Controlin the INFINTI QX80 automatically adjusts the speed of the vehicle to adapt to traffic flow. Aptly titled ‘intelligent’, the feature offers a comfortable and seamless ride for the driver and passengers.

Under the Hood

Powered by a 5.6L V8 engine, the QX80 has four driving modes, providing secure traction at all times and set to dominate roads with its technological and performance prowess.
